The fact that 14% of European employees are involved suggests that a lot of European supervisors struggle to do either. They recognize that the manager-employee connection is the most essential chauffeur of engagement and natural development, and they come close to the job of increasing engagement with the same rigor, self-control, and dedication that they come close to other organization issues.

The bright side is that the majority of Europeans are disengaged yet not discontented. They are resting on the sidelines, waiting to be influenced. They are winnable, and companies can fix this gap by better furnishing their supervisors with the understanding and advancement they need to be better individuals supervisors.
